The short answer

With GUIDE60, the $120 Course 1 plus the $62.75 sales associate application and one $57.75 state exam totals $240.50 before fingerprints. The equivalent broker path totals $247.75 before fingerprints. Your fingerprint provider’s price, any retakes, and the cost of starting work are additional.

What are the required licensing expenses?

How much should I budget for fingerprints?

Livescan providers set their own total prices. Ask for the complete charge, including processing, before booking. Use an FDLE-approved provider and the correct real estate ORI, FL920010Z.

DBPR also lists a $36 fingerprint service at its Tallahassee headquarters. Its published instructions describe in-person scanning and mailed hard-card processing. Review the requirements and any separate card-taking, mailing, or travel costs before choosing that option.

Example: using the $36 in-person DBPR service, the base licensing budget is $276.50 for sales or $283.75 for broker, before travel or other incidental costs. If a local provider instead quotes $75, those totals become $315.50 and $322.75. The $75 is an illustration, not a statewide fee or a provider quote.

See DBPR’s fingerprinting prices, instructions, and approved-provider directory.

How do FastPass and FastPass + Post change the total?

Add the same application and first state-exam fees to whichever course package fits you. Every subtotal below still needs your fingerprint cost added.

Package with guide discountSales subtotalBroker subtotal
Course 1 or 2 — $120 with GUIDE60$240.50 + fingerprints$247.75 + fingerprints
Course + FastPass — $200 with GUIDE80$320.50 + fingerprints$327.75 + fingerprints
Course + FastPass + Post — $300 with GUIDE80$420.50 + fingerprints$427.75 + fingerprints

Post-licensing is education for your first renewal, not an extra requirement before the initial state exam. The third package prepays that education; it does not include DBPR renewal fees. Retakes, optional exam reviews, travel, and later brokerage or membership expenses are outside these subtotals.

If you need another state-exam attempt, budget another $57.75. Check retake timing and certificate validity before booking.

Course 1 or Course 2 suits someone who wants the required education and traditional school final. FastPass combines course certification and state-exam preparation through three certification exams designed to reflect the state exam’s question style and subject matter. FastPass + Post adds the next required education stage.

With GUIDE60, the required course is $120. With GUIDE80, Course + FastPass is $200 and combines course certification and state-exam preparation. FastPass + Post is $300 with GUIDE80 and includes the matching first-renewal course.

All these Daniel Larson Training bundles provide one year of access. If you buy post-licensing early, schedule its completion within that access window; your eventual state renewal deadline may fall later.

Starting work has its own budget.

Ask prospective brokerages about their actual fees, training, insurance arrangements, technology charges, and any required association or MLS membership. Do not assume those expenses are included in a school package or state application.

You can explore those business choices while completing your licensing steps. Keeping a separate “license” and “launch my business” budget makes school comparisons more meaningful.
